THE METAL DEN’s 1st ‘Battle Of Unsigned Thrash’ Online Contest: Top 20 Announced!

Today is the day TMD announces the top 20 participants in the first ‘Battle of Unsigned Thrash’ online contest! Thanks to the hundreds of bands from all over the globe that submitted their music for consideration.

Judging for the semi-final round will be based on the most current studio recording and the finals are based on video of live performance loaded to YouTube. Here is the basic breakdown on exactly how the scoring process works:

1st round (Semi-Finals)- Scoring for STUDIO RECORDING (1-10 point scale) is based on 3 separate criteria:

1. Production Quality
2. Musicianship
3. Songwriting



2nd round (Finals) – Scoring for VIDEO OF LIVE PERFORMANCE (1-10) is based on 3 separate criteria:

1. Production Quality
2. Band Image
3. Public Response (page views)

The semi final round happens on July 22nd, 2013, wherein all 20 bands will receive official scoring from three judges (identity of each judge will be announced on that date) and those bands with the top 10 overall scores will move on to the final round on July 25th.

The winner of the final round will receive a label representation deal with THE METAL DEN RECORDS (Value $3,000). Prizes to be announced for the other top 5 finalists once the champion is crowned!!!
