American metal stalwarts SEVEN WITCHES are set to release their ninth studio album, the first for new label home FrostByte Media; REBIRTH is due out on July 16th in North America. REBIRTH is produced by Seven Witches founder/lead guitarist/mainstay Jack Frost and features a gritty, hook-laden sound. It’s a return to basics for the band highlighting Jack Frost‘s signature ax work. In addition to Frost this time around, Seven Witches is rounded out by Ronnie Parkes (Slippery When Wet, Farcry) on bass, Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Danzig) on drums, and brand new frontman Anthony Cross. Look for the band to tour the United States this summer near the release of REBIRTH.

Jack Frost first broke into the scene at the age of 19 during an audition with the metal legends Helix. After moving back to his home state of New Jersey, Frost formed his first band, Frostbite, back in 1994 eventually releasing three well-regarded power metal albums and touring with everyone from Overkill to Fates Warning. Seeking a harder-edged sound, he formed Seven Witches in 1998. Over the band’s storied career, Seven Witches has featured a literal who’s who of metal giants in its ranks, including Bobby Lucas, Wade Black (Crimson Glory), Alan Tecchio (Hades, Non-Fiction, Watchtower), James Rivera (Helstar), Joey Vera (Armored Saint, Fates Warning), Kevin Bolembach (Non-Fiction) and Mike LePond (Symphony X). The band has also toured with the likes of Overkill, Annihilator, Symphony X, Judas Priest, Demon, Kamelot, WASP and Armored Saint. Outside of Seven Witches, Jack Frost has contributed his talents to Overkill’s DD Verni’s project, The Bronx Casket Company, released two solo albums, recorded alongside the members of Annihilator in SPEEED, toured and/or recorded with Metalium, Joey Belladonna, Lizzy Borden and Savatage, and contributed to a number of tribute albums for the likes of WASP, Accept, Dio and the Scorpions. He’s also made numerous guest appearances on CDs from Ted Poley, Bob Rock and Terry Ilous.
