Mesa, Arizona thrash metal act SARGON have signed a worldwide label representation deal with The Metal Den Records.
Randy “Rocket” Cody of The Metal Den states: “I want to welcome Sargon to TMD Records and I look forward to unleashing more of the hottest talent emerging from the underground via my new label, so tell your friends and get ready for a new revolution in heavy music!”
Sargon, the vision and brainchild of Frank Van Kwartel (guitar/vocals), emerged in late 2008 with Edgar Candanedo on bass and Alex Marquez (ex-Malevolent Creation, Solstice) on drums. In February 2009, Sargon recorded and independently released a demo of songs previously written by Van Kwartel entitled The Vehemence EP. Sargon completed their first full-length album In Contempt after relocating to Phoenix, Arizona from Panama City, Panama in December 2010.
In Contempt was digitally released on March 1st, 2011. In August 2011, Sargon signed with Old Cemetery Records and recruited ex- Death/Monstrosity bassist Kelly Conlon. In Contempt was physically released on September 23rd, 2011 by Old Cemetery Records. Sargon are currently promoting their full-length debut, and have recruited Jag Panzer drummer Rickard Stjernquist as their official full time drummer. The band is also performing live and recently self-released The Bitter End EP in 2012. Sargon will release their debut full-length for The Metal Den Records in 2013.
