Candlelight Records has signed Long Island, New York hardcore/metal act VISION OF DISORDER.
For those of you not familiar with the group, VOD rose from the underground NYHC hardcore scene in the mid/late-90s, quickly signing with Roadrunner Records. The band performed on Ozzfest and put out their next album on TVT Records. Their final effort was a departure in sound, and fan backlash, in addition to problems with TVT led to VOD falling apart and disbanding. During the interim they’ve popped up here and there, performing a few shows, and eventually working on new material.
Looks like they’ve written enough, because the band will enter the studio in a month or so to begin recording a yet-to-be titled album with Will Putney (Suicide Silence) and Cameron Webb (Motorhead). According to the band, “Playing reunion shows over the past few years and seeing such positive responses has truly been inspirational. This album is absolutely dedicated to our fans that have stuck by us through our ups and downs. Without them, it would not have been.”
Darren Toms, Candlelight’s European label manager, had this to say about the new collaboration: “I have been a fan of the band since the first release many years ago on Roadrunner/Supersoul and after hearing the new material I’m very excited to be working with the band and getting them back to where they need to be in today’s market.”
