Alt metal act DEFTONES and the metal community in general have something to cheer for. The group’s bassist Chi Cheng, who has been bedridden in a hospital bed since late 2008 after a horrific car accident left him a coma, is now thankfully finally making some serious progress in his recovery, having recent awoken from his three year coma and has even been able to respond to basic commands, including lifting his own legs! He is currently in a minimally conscious state. A video was recently posted showing his progress HERE.
