VAN HALEN revealed the artwork for their new album on New Year’s Eve, albeit in an unconventional manner. The artwork (seen above) — featuring a train from the old New York Central System — was among the many images projected on one of the giant video screens in Times Square, and was visible on the various New Year’s Eve TV specials that aired live from New York City. As confirmed by the ad, the as-yet-untitled disc will drop on February 7.
Van Halen has scheduled some sort of press event in New York City’s Cafe Wha? for Thursday night. According to RollingStone.com, there’s talk they will perform a 45-minute set. Presumably, additional info regarding the album will be announced at that time, too. Singer David Lee Roth’s uncle Manny once owned Cafe Wha?
