HELL from Nottingham were about to record their debut album when their record company went bankrupt. The band dissolved and singer Dave Halliday killed himself. The year was 1987. Over time, Hell’s remaining recordings grew in cult status. The combination of infectiously catchy heavy metal, theatrical vocals and a diabolical atmosphere was praised for being way ahead of its time, and in 2008 the band reformed. The album ”Human remains” was finally released in May 2011, recorded by the surviving original members and guitarist/producer Andy Sneap and vocalist David Bower. It has been met with great success and acclaim. Hell’s theatrical stage show, with make-up and anti-religious symbolism, goes perfectly with the music – in short, the band’s career could not have got a better second beginning.
