Den Headz, former MOTORHEAD guitarist Wurzel has passed away at the age of 61, this according to Lemmy bass tech Tim Butcher. In a Facebook posting Butcher stated, “RIP Wurzle. Great guitarist an a complete gent… we will miss you.”
While no official statement has been released stating the cause of death, rumors are circulating that he suffered a massive heart attack while at home.
Born Michael Burston on October 23, 1949, Wurzel was best know for replacing Brian Robertson (along with Phil Campbell) in Motorhead and appearing on such studio albums as ‘No Remorse’ (1984), ‘Orgasmatron’ (1986), ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll’ (1987), ‘1916’ (1991), ‘March Or Die’ (1992), ‘Bastards’ (1993) and ‘Sacrifice’ (1995). Wurzel left Motorhead in 1995 and was last working with his new band Leader of Down.
