Den Headz, it’s hard to believe that it’s been one year since legendary vocalist Ronnie James Dio passed away from a battle with stomach cancer on May 16, 2010. His devoted fans, friends and family still continue to mourn the loss of the great one.
Perhaps no other rocker has had such a hold on his fans as Dio did over his incredible musical career that he enjoyed with epic heavy music acts: RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH, DIO, and HEAVEN AND HELL.
To Ronnie, the ‘fan’ he truly felt was both his friend & family… he treated them as such during his phenomenal run in music. There won’t be another one like him again. Since his death, Dio’s wife, Wendy, set up The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, which helps with awareness and prevention. The fund has raised countless tens of thousands of dollars since its inception via tributes for the iconic singer.
Today is a day to reflect on RJD’s brilliant musical gifts and his ability to be a great human being in general, so let’s ‘Stand Up And Shout’ today, all day long, for one of rock’s most accomplished performers ever!
Raise your horns one more time for Ronnie!!!
