TMD has obtained rare concert audio of METALLICA performing “Hit The Lights” live on April 16, 1983 at The Showplace in Dover, New Jersey. This is the opening song of the very first gig that guitarist Kirk Hammett played live with the band, having just replaced future MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine, who basically got kicked out of the lineup for being a mean drunk.
This coming October will mark three decades since the mighty METALLICA was founded by drummer Lars Ulrich and vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield. To date, METALLICA has sold over one hundred million records worldwide.
