Blackened death collective VALDUR, who dwell within the small town of Mammoth Lakes, California located high within the Sierra Mountain Range and feature current and former members of Plutocracy, Weverin and Endless Blizzard, unleashed their long-awaited full-length Raven God Amongst Us upon unsuspecting masses earlier this summer. Featuring nine tracks of sonic decay, the self-financed long player was recorded at Trench Studios and released via drummer Sxuperion’s own BloodyMountain Records.

Check out the band’s recent video for “Vicious Existence,” by following: http://tinyurl.com/3ypn622. All visuals were taken by Sxuperion within the Mammoth Lakes area (except for the tree photo at beginning, by Scot/Tarna).

In related news, the band will be performing a special release show tonight with fellow black metal horde LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH in Mammoth Lakes.

Words from the converted:

“Raven God Amongst Us shows Valdur’s unwavering belief in their opinion of how they imagine their black metal should sound. Whatever the geographical location or the band members’ origin, they continue to represent some of the best American black metal true to the genre origins.” — Metal Reviews

“An album that avoids the one-dimensional mind set of most traditional black metal…” — Metal Underground

“Speedy and heavy and vicious is the Raven God Amongst Us. Crisp production but deliberate black metal dirtiness. Ugly to the soul and beautiful like Lucifer, Valdur’s album is a full frontal attack of spirit crushing BM killingness. ” — Corazine

“…the best black metal band in the United States that you’ve probably never heard of. ” — About.com

“…a shimmering brand of black metal which pierces hearts rather than suffocates lungs.” — Thrash Pit

“The music is brutal, fast and harsh black metal, with a lot of blastbeats and violence. But there’s more to Valdur’s music then just mindless violence…If you are looking for some harsh yet majestic black metal, this might be for you.” — Minacious
