Knoxville’s sons of death metal, WHITECHAPEL, have entered Billboard Magazine’s Top 200 Chart at #43 with just under 10,700 albums sold of the band’s highly anticipated album A New Era of Corruption. WHITECHAPEL’s A New Era of Corruption also debuted at #2 on the Hard Music Core Stores Chart, #3 on the Independent Albums Chart, and #5 on the Hard Music Albums Chart. In addition to breaking the charts in the states, A New Era of Corruption also charted in Canada coming in at #70 on the Current Albums chart, #9 on the Indie chart, and #8 on the Hard chart. A New Era of Corruption marks the band’s 3rd full-length album and 2nd for Metal Blade Records. Check out what press has had to say about the band’s latest, and to date greatest, release A New Era of Corruption below.

The band comments on the success of A New Era of Corruption: “We are excited to have charted on the Billboard 200 again, this time with the release of A New Era of Corruption and are thankful for all of our amazing fans who supported us and bought the CD. This CD will be a huge step forward in our career and we can’t wait to see where it will take us.”

WHITECHAPEL’s first production video for the track The Darkest Day of Man, directed by David Brodsky of MyGoodEye and featuring animation by David Brodsky & Tim Kellen, will go live on Metal Blade TV and ANewEraOfCorruption.com this Thursday.

WHITECHAPEL stands out in today’s overcrowded metal scene due in part to their ability to fuse memorable and even groovy riffs with crushing breakdowns, tremolo picking at neck breaking speeds, and incredibly evil and dissonant sounds. Their songs demand repeated listens and gang vocals at shows are common place. “This is Exile,” the band’s Metal Blade debut, was unleashed on July 8th, 2008, and debuted at #118 on the Billboard top 200 charts, #2 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers, and #14 on Billboard’s Top Independent albums. An accomplishment that is impressive for veteran artists, much less a relatively brand new metal act.

Whitechapel is:
Phil Bozeman – Vocals
Ben Savage – Guitar/Leads
Alex Wade – Guitar
Zach Householder – Guitar
Gabe Crisp – Bass
Kevin Lane – Drums
