ANTHRAX has announced that former frontman Joey Belladonna has rejoined the band and will join them on stage for their Big Four tour dates this summer with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth.
Belladonna was the band’s vocalist from 1985 to 1992, lending his voice to 10 studio albums during his tenure with the group. Though the singer was fired from the band 1992 and replaced by John Bush, he briefly reconnected with Anthrax for a reunion tour in 2005 and 2006.
“I am super-excited about this,” guitarist Scott Ian told MTV. “Joey and the rest of the band came to see me play at a club in New York, I hadn’t seen Joey for years, since the end of the reunion tour. Joey taps me on the shoulder, instant big hug, it felt like no time had gone by.”
“The band dynamic is an interesting one — in ANTHRAX, Joey and I spent so many years of our lives together, we grew up together, we know each other so well, so it was like no time was lost,” he added.
