Famed HEAVY METAL Artist Is Not Kidnapped?

Den Headz, the alleged Frank Frazetta ‘kidnapped’ story just keeps getting stranger and stranger with the dawn of each new day. Since Dec/2009, the legendary fantasy artist – who is best known for his ‘Conan’ works and his epic contributions to Heavy Metal magazine over the years – has been stuck in the middle of an ongoing feud – between his kids – over his 100 million dollar estate – that used to be managed by his wife Ellie, who also passed away in the same year. For over three and a half months now, the elderly Frazetta – who also relies on an oxygen tank at this point – has been holed up in Boca Grande, Florida – far away from his own home and art museum in Pennsylvania… so that he can supposedly spend time with his grand children.

It all started when Metallica’s lead guitarist Kirk Hammett reportedly purchased one of the 82 year old painting icon’s original “Conan” masterworks last year…. for one million smackers.

Yes, once Frank Frazetta’s original cover painting for the Lancer paperback edition of Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Conqueror was sold to the Metallica great, all hell broke loose.

This was a sale that was four times greater than the previous record price for a Frazetta painting, which was $251,000, paid for the cover to Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Escape on Venus in 2008.

“Conan the Conquerer” – by many – is considered the “penultimate painting in the canon.”

Up until the sale, the painting had been on display at the Frazetta Museum in East Stroudsburg, PA as Frazetta had retained all of his covers for the Conan books except for one that had been stolen from the publisher’s office when it went bankrupt.

Once the sale went down, Frank Frazetta all but disappeared from the face of the earth.

Well, that is until today. After TMD broke the initial story about Kirk Hammett’s purported million dollar art buy (that the musician thinks may have been what created the family fiasco), a media frenzy has begun as to what is true with this story and what isn’t. Now… the legend speaks for himself (or does he?)

A strange video of Frank Frazetta speaking out on the matter has been posted HERE. He claims that he is not being held against his will, and in a separate news article run today, that he is indeed mad at his son Frank Jr., who broke into his father’s museum (then got arrested with twenty million dollars worth of paintings in his possession) – all in an effort to beat his other siblings to the punch perhaps.. or was he just trying to protect his father?

Tonight a candlelight vigil is being held near the Frazetta museum in effort to bring the senior Frazetta back home.
