It’s being widely reported that current CHICKENFOOT (and former MONTROSE/VAN HALEN) vocalist Sammy Hagar has been approached about fronting the legendary AEROSMITH on a forthcoming world tour.
“The idea is for Sammy and Aerosmith to rake in big bucks on the road while leaving Steven Tyler to sort out his problems,” claimed ‘the source.’ “Then Tyler would return to the band in a couple of years’ time.”
According to Classic Rock (who contacted Hagar’s manager, John Carter), they had it on good authority that Sammy was joining the Beantown rockers.
“Good authority must mean The Enquirer because his Led Zep gig conflicts with the Aerosmith job,” Carter joked, and then added that Hagar was happy as a clam with his current band Chickenfoot and was looking forward to start recording their second record in April.
Who knows, Den Headz… maybe the next person Joe Perry will approach to sing for the band will
be Courtney Love!
