GRAMMY Award-winning progressive sludge metal band MASTODON have officially announced their ninth studio album, “Marrow Deep“. The record marks the band’s first full-length without former guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds, following his departure in early 2025. Hinds tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident last August after what had been an unamicable split with the band.
Set for release on August 28th through Loma Vista Recordings, the 12-track album arrives with its second advance single, “Snakes For Dinner“. The accompanying music video, now streaming below, features a guest appearance from Queens Of The Stone Age mastermind Josh Homme. The collaboration reunites Homme with Mastodon for the first time since his guest spot on “Colony Of Birchmen” from the band’s 2006 album “Blood Mountain“, aside from his additional bonus contribution to that record.
