A rumor is going around that late BLACK SABBATH frontman Ozzy Osbourne chose to end his life by way of assisted suicide.
Ozzy Osbourne always made it clear that he wanted to go out on his own terms. He always had his own rituals. Ozzy’s farewell concert with Black Sabbath has sparked discussions about how bad his health truly was and whether he sacrificed his well-being to please his fans, when he should have been resting instead.

Other notable rockers, like Alice Cooper, believe he dedicated too much to rock and roll, potentially at the expense of his health.
Ozzy appeared to be in good spirits during the last gig, despite an odd end of concert tirade, fueled by his band mates inability to surround him for a proper final bow to the crowd. However, soon after bassist Geezer Butler presented Ozzy with a cake.
Others highlight that Ozzy himself stated he doesn’t fear death, but only a long, painful existence, and secretly had a plan in place for assisted suicide.
Sharon Osbourne’s Stance On Assisted Suicide
Believe it or not, Ozzy’s wife Sharon Osbourne previously expressed support for assisted suicide under certain circumstances.
In her 2007 memoir Survivor: My Story – The Next Chapter, she revealed that she and Ozzy agreed to seek help from Dignitas, a Swiss assisted-suicide organization, if either of them developed dementia, per People. It stemmed from the death of Sharon’s father, Don Arden, back in 2007, from Alzheimer’s disease.
In a September 2007 article that appeared in the Daily Mirror, Sharon said she “believes in euthanasia” and said the pair “have drawn up plans to go to the assisted suicide flat in Switzerland if we ever have an illness that affects our brains. If Ozzy or I ever got Alzheimer’s, that’s it — we’d be off.”
Ozzy suffered from Parkinson’s disease and also had suffered a serious back injury, and a second surgery that nearly left him crippled. He was not able to stand during the entire farewell concert.
The topic of assisted suicide was revisited during an October 2023 episode of The Osbournes Podcast, where Sharon, Ozzy, son Jack and daughter Kelly appeared.
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne Had Decades-Long Assisted Suicide Pact
A cause of death was not given when his family announced he had died on July 22nd.
Sharon Osbourne’s declaration that she and husband Ozzy Osbourne had a suicide pact is receiving new interest after the legendary rocker’s death at age 76.
The Osbourne matriarch first revealed the “plan” in her 2007 memoir Survivor: My Story—The Next Chapter, as she expressed her fear of contracting dementia as her own father had.
“If this disease is to be my fate, I don’t want to repeat history and go through what my father has gone through,” she wrote then. “I’ve discussed it with my family and we have a plan in place. My kids would take me to Switzerland where euthanasia is legal, and you can die with dignity.”
Sharon Osbourne confirmed the plan later that year to The Mirror, telling the site that she and her husband “have drawn up plans to go to the assisted suicide flat in Switzerland if we ever have an illness that affects our brains.” She explained, “If Ozzy or I ever got Alzheimer’s, that’s it—we’d be off. We gathered the kids around the kitchen table, told them our wishes and they’ve all agreed to go with it.”

But when Kelly’s brother Jack asked their parents whether euthanasia was “still a plan” for them during a 2023 episode of The Osbournes Podcast, both remained unmoved about their pact. “Do you think that we’re gonna suffer” instead?” Sharon Osbourne replied. “Mental suffering is enough pain without physical. So if you’ve got mental and physical, see ya.”
Even then Kelly pushed back, asking, “But what if you could survive?”
Her mother replied, “Yeah, what if you survived and you can’t wipe your own a–, you’re p—ing everywhere, s–tting, can’t eat.”
