Wolfgang Van Halen has withdrawn from his planned performance at Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne‘s forthcoming farewell show, ‘Back To The Beginning‘. The second generation rocker was originally booked to take part in the all-star jam portion of the festival, which is being led by Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello.
However, according Van Halen himself, scheduling conflicts with his band Mammoth‘s summer tour with Creed and more have seen him withdraw from the live sendoff. He recently told WRIF‘s Meltdown of that:
“I, unfortunately, had to back out because the Creed tour starts the day after, and I [wouldn’t] be able to pull it off — unfortunately. I’m very excited to watch it, but I unfortunately had to back out.”
Wolfgang did however get to take part in a special performance for Ozzy late last year, serving as one of the many musical guests who helped induct the Prince Of Darkness into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
