Multi-platinum-certified Swedish occult metallers GHOST have been having a bit of fun in recent weeks, serving up several teases to lead up to what is expected to be this year’s release of their sixth studio album. From imagery and streams teasing “V Is Coming…” to an early confirmation that Papa V Perpetua will be the next front persona for the theatrically-inclined outfit, it’s been an exciting time for group’s fans.
While not necessarily as elaborate as we’ve seen from other bands in recent months, Ghost have been leaving breadcrumbs for their fans to follow, such as this playlist, which was released in mid-February. While seemingly benign on the surface, fans were quick to suss out that the first letter of each song spelled out the phrase ‘Satanized’.
As Ghost‘s campaign has continued to evolve, so has the teasing, from a ‘FumataCast’ livestream to a physical billboard in Las Vegas, NV and more. Now the band have confirmed the arrival of an apparent music video for an expected new single titled “Satanized“, hosting signups for watch parties via i.ghost-official.com/satanizedvideo.
The band have said alongside that:
“We wish to inform you that our Sin City council is complete. Papa V Perpetua‘s ascension is imminent. So let’s gather together at 12am EST on Wednesday, March 5. All are welcome to escape the travails of daily life and to become one with the phantasmagoric spectacle.”
Further info can be found through Partiful. Ghost‘s flurry of activity follows the band’s announcement of their 2025 touring plans, which will be a ‘phone-free experience.’
Meanwhile, despite preparing to rollout their next era, the group’s catalog continues to captivate fans. Both their 2016 single “Square Hammer” and 2018’s “Rats” recently took home new hardware in the United States, being certified platinum and gold respectively on February 07th of this year by the RIAA.
