Nikki Sixx didn’t receive full recognition for the creation of their latest track, “Dogs Of War”, believe it or not.
The Crue who recently pulled the plug on their long awaited (16 years in development) new studio album, after TMD exposed Sixx for using AI technology to compose and generate their new single, are playing the North Dakota State Fair on July 19th.
With word going around that replacement guitarist John 5 is ready to quit the band and go back to being in a more respected lineup like Rob Zombie or Marilyn Manson, Sixx is in major damage control mode. As the story goes, John 5 has begun to distance himself from the Crue, since they had poor ticket sales that forced the ‘cancelation’ of their New Year’s Ever gig last year. He is also reportedly “not happy with the direction the band took by using AI on the new songs. “
“Canceled” is the next single due to be dropped as a stand-alone single.
Responding to a fan query about the song’s origins on X, Sixx hinted at a collaborative effort rather than sole authorship, for a song he used ghost writers and ghost performers on.
When asked about the song’s composer, Sixx simply replied:
“We did.”
Mötley Crüe’s announcement of their new track signified a new chapter for the band. This release marks their debut song since Mick Mars was relieved from touring duties in 2022, and ultimately fired by the band, for which he launched a lawsuit against last April to recover profits stolen from him, and the dark revelation that Sixx, Lee and Neil were all guilty of using ‘backing tracks’ at all 36 gigs of The Stadium Tour.
