At last night’s (Sunday, Nov 22nd) gig at the Valarium in Knoxville, TN, the old man of MEGADETH blew a gasket again… this time he turned his anger on… yes, one of his own fans! Here’s the story of a Droogie – merely trying to shoot some camera video of the show for posterity’s sake -who was let down by the very man that makes the music he worships. Not exactly the kind of negative publicity Dave needs, at a time when he is accusing his own label of dropping the ball on proper PR for his latest album release. It seems Mustaine needs to be reminded that it is the fan themselves who pay to purchase his band’s CD, concert tickets, and merch:
“I was crammed up front, dead center in front of the main man himself. When I say my whole body was crammed up in one space, I meant it was crammed up! There was a point I had a hard time breathing and it felt like my spine was going to break. It was an actual crew member of Megadeth that went up and told me that Dave was pissed off. My heart basically broke when I heard that! We all laugh when someone gets yelled at by Dave during the show, but not being told directly that he’s pissed off at you really hurts more. It was a matter of seconds that the security told me to get out. And as I was deleting the clips, the head of security was going on something about copyright infringement stuff. Incidentally, he tells me it was okay for small snippets of songs, which I was doing in the first place. Either way, I am banned from the venue, but that’s not my concern, it’s the fact I pissed Dave off. (And not in a fun way either.) Not a good first show at all.”
