Live footage has been found of ANTHRAX performing with ex-vocalist Dan Nelson from back on Saturday March 7, 2009 when the legendary thrash act played Bogota, Colombia for the first time in their career, opening for IRON MAIDEN. It seems pretty apparent that the band’s founder Scott Ian has decided to step all over the (former) lead vocalist’s toes – a very disrespectful situation no matter what band it is, by talking to the crowd ALL by himself. David Lee Roth would have just walked off the stage if Van Halen ever did that to him. Hell, come to think of it… any one of us that’s even been in an amateur garage band in the past knows full well that you don’t do this sort of thing.
But when you’re Scott Ian… I guess you operate by your own set of rules.
This strange moment certainly now lends weight to Nelson’s assertion that he was fired by the band… as opposed to ‘quitting’ which is what Ian and Anthrax claims happened. In an interview earlier this year with TMD, vocalist Dan Nelson answered a question about what it’s like to work with Ian in the studio,
by saying this:
“Like the Thrilla in Manilla every night. But more violent.”

If you watch closely, at one point Dan Nelson seems to turn his back to the crowd during Ian’s lengthy banter and seemingly offers up a completely flustered expression. Now if you were in his boots, wouldn’t you?
Last year In December, a Malaysian man was stabbed to death for hogging the mic at a Karaoke Bar.
In China, South Korea and Japan people have been both shot and stabbed mid-performance over disputes.
We’re just saying…
