Pulverised Records is proud to welcome Ukranian black metallers BALFOR to their illustrious roster. Self-described as as “barbaric black metal” that explores themes from their country’s warrior past, the band’s recently completed debut full-length, Barbaric Blood, is slated for release in early 2010.
Comments Pulverised A&R manager Calvin Chiang: “BALFOR are one of those bands that has pretty much the whole package: Top-class musicianship and excellent songwriting prowess that perfectly describes their brand of darkened black metal. It is our pleasure to be working with BALFOR on their debut album. Expect nothing less than killer headbanging riffs blending together with the atmospheric feel that is ever so essential in black metal.”
Added vocalist/guitarist Thorgeir: “We are really excited to be working with a label with the reputation and experience of Pulverised Records for the release of our first full-length album and we are very much looking forward to our collaboration. As a band, BALFOR always gives 101% of itself in terms of commitment and this is what we will bring to Pulverised.”
In related news, BALFOR recently recruited second guitar player Agnarr to their ranks. In an official press statement issued by the band: “Agnarr is a highly trained and skilled guitarist, with a real instinct for music, so he got the feel of what we wanted straight away. When we were recording material for our new album, we realized that the fuller sound we had developed was going to need an additional guitarist in order for us to be able to reproduce it live. It also takes some of the pressure off me on stage. Singing and playing at the same time is one thing, but when you want to give the audience a less static show, and communicate with them at the same time, it doesn’t always work too well, so a second guitarist is the perfect solution for us.”
Two new tracks — “Behold My Hate” and “The Perfect Fire” — from the upcoming debut album, are currently streaming on the band’s official MySpace Page: http://www.myspace.com/balforhorde
