KISS is poised to make KISStory: The legendary band has never had a #1 album, but this could all change next week. According to Billboard, Sonic Boom, the new album from one of rock’s most iconic bands and produced by frontman Paul Stanley, is poised to go #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

“Next week’s Billboard 200 chart will either house a first-ever No. 1 album from iconic band Kiss, or pop singer Michael Buble may crash the group’s rockin’ party with his new set, ‘Crazy Love’.
Industry sources suggest that Kiss’ new Wal-Mart exclusive album, ‘Sonic Boom’, may shift somewhere between 160,000 and 180,000 copies in its first week. If the set sells that much, it will also mark the group’s best sales week since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.”

The new album that marks a return to their signature 70s sound. The three-piece set includes Sonic Boom, a second, exclusive CD of the famous KISS hits and a live DVD from their recent show in Argentina.
KISS is also on the road with their North American KISS/Alive 35 tour that started in Detroit Rock City at Cobo Arena, the historic venue where the band recorded their landmark KISS Alive album in 1975.
