DARK TRANQUILLITY has bid farewell to guitarist Christopher Amott as he sets off on a new musical path. Expressing no ill will, Amott explains that the time has come for him to focus on his own creations. To fill in for Amott during upcoming performances, talented shredder Joey Concepcion, who hails from Amott’s other band Armageddon, has been brought on board.
As for Dark Tranquility, they will continue working on their 13th album due to release this fall.
Amott adds:
“Hi everyone. I’ve made the decision to leave Dark Tranquillity. There’s no bad blood at all, but it’s time for me to concentrate on some new music that I’m very proud of! I’d like to thank the guys (and the fans!) for all the years of great gigs, and I wish them the absolute best. I’ll see you all sometime soon!”
