The mighty METALLICA have released their 11th studio album titled 72 Seasons via their own label, Blackened Recordings. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, with 146,000 units earned, comprising mostly of album sales. The release marks the largest sales numbers for hard rock/heavy since September 2019, when Tool released Fear Inoculum, reaching 248,000 units earned.
“…The main thing for me is that there are no slow ballads, which is another big time plus when I am rating a metal album. “Sleepwalk My Life Away” and “You Must Burn!” are killer tracks, and do not slow down this crushing collection of ass kickers.” – Randy “Rocket” Cody, TheMetalDen
Produced by Greg Fidelman, James Hetfield, and Lars Ulrich, the 12-track album is over 77 minutes long and marks Metallica’s first full-length collection of new material since 2016’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.
