Swedish black metal titans WATAIN have been setting North America ablaze with a sound and stage show that is a true assault to the senses. Touring in support of their Lawless Darkness full-length released via Season Of Mist earlier this year, the wild ride commenced in Pittsburgh on November 6 and has been sweeping its way across the country with relentless fury. Swedish death metal act AMON AMARTH have just announced the title of the band’s forthcoming album as Surtur Rising. Due out in the spring of 2011, Surtur Rising marks the group’s 8th full-length studio release and undoubtedly one of 2011’s most anticipated releases by fans and critics alike. Surtur Rising is the follow up to the highly acclaimed, 2008 release, Twilight of the Thunder God, which landed the #7 spot in Revolver Magazine’s Top 20 Albums of 2008. MURDERDOLLS, the group that features SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison, recently announced that they have canceled their upcoming tour of the United States due to a family emergency. Here’s the official statement on the matter:
“Due to an unforeseeable family emergency Murderdolls have been forced to cancel the upcoming Violent Night, Deadly Night tour. These decisions are never easy to make and we did everything we could to keep from having to cancel, but this was unavoidable. We’ll do our best to make up the dates in 2011. For those who bought tickets, refunds are available from point of purchase. Sorry ghoulscouts but we’ll see you all soon!”

CRUZ DEL SUR MUSIC have reached an agreement with Pennsylvania’s ARGUS for the release of their new album entitled Boldly Strides The Doomed.
ARGUS was formed in 2007 and features Bruce Balich of Penance fame on vocals. They released their self-titled debut album on Shadow Kingdom records in 2009, which was greeted warmly by the metal press immediately, Decibel Magazine describing them as “…a chest-thumping display of epic heavy metal as performed by a bunch of staunch doom metal fans. Indeed, ARGUS are all about big riffs, galloping anthems, dark melodies and tube amps.”

It’s been a while since I rocked one of these out, so I figured now
was as good a time as any to recap 2010 and the incredible achievements
that were accomplished this year at the HOTTEST heavy metal news site in the
TMD’s site is on pace for roughly 300,000 total page views in 2010 and 150,000 visitors!
Not one penny has been spent by myself or my partner, Eddie Karam, on any
advertising for TMD’s site… so I would definitely say these numbers are
terribly encouraging for a relatively young site that has only been in operation
since 2007. The advertising you see on our site is provided through our new partnership
with Fixion Media and really has been working out great so far.

Den Headz, Austin, Texas (USA) metal act THE SWORD have unleashed their new music video for the song “Lawless Lands”. It can be viewed down below. The clip is the second in a trilogy of videos the band shot with Artificial Army (The Mars Volta, Dead Meadow). The trilogy started with the video for “Tres Brujas” and will conclude with the forthcoming video for “Night City“.

Sumerian black/thrash act MELECHESH will play the first shows in support of the bands brand new epic studio effort “The Epigenesis”.
