In 2005, Italy’s CRIMSON DAWN was conceived by Drakkar guitarist/composer Dario Beretta and Crown of Autumn multi-musician Emanuele Rastelli. The band released one demo in 2006 entitled “A Dawn In Crimson.” On that demo the eponymous track “Crimson Dawn” originally appeared. When Beretta resurrected the band with Rastelli’s blessing, Crimson Dawn became a separate and serious new doom metal act – regrouped and rearmed with Betoken vocalist Antonio Pecere, Ex-All Soul’s Day drummer Luca Lucchini, keyboardist Emanuele Laghi, guitarist Marco Rusconi (six string guitar) and bassist Alessandro Reggiani Romagnoliand – the song persevered and was re-recorded for the 2013 debut album “In Strange Aeons…”
Beretta says of the track: “‘A ‘Waltz of Doom’ with strong medieval/folk influences. It’s the only song from the first demo CD that has been kept almost identical, with minimal changes to better fit Antonio’s vocal range, which is obviously far more impressive than mine. I also love the way Luca interpreted the drum parts, playing less to play more, so to say. The acoustic guitars have been played by our bass player Alessandro, who’s also a trained classical guitarist.”
Now, Metal Underground.com is pleased to premiere the music video for the track. The band footage for the video was shot by Cesare Ferrari, Bruno Masulli, Andrea Pastore and Dario Trombin. The video was directed and edited at Actionstudios.it. The sound engineer for the audio track was Mattia Stancioiu of Elnor Studio.
