Wilmington, North Carolina (USA) metal act, GOLLUM, will perform a one-off performance at this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest featuring some of the metal scene’s heaviest hitters include Megadeth, Machine Head, In Flames and Unearth. Their third year in a row playing the big-name event, GOLLUM will pillage the Jagermiester stage on the August 3rd stop at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek in Raleigh. The entire set will be filmed for possible DVD inclusion.
Said guitarist Frank Stroehmer: “We are super stoked and psyched to play alongside all these great bands for the third year in a row! We are especially looking forward to seeing Megadeth destroy! We’ve been working hard over the last year writing new material for our upcoming Rotten Record’s sophomore release and will be showcasing some of the new tunes in our set!”
GOLLUM are currently working on the follow-up to their critically-lauded The Core full-length, release via Rotten Records in 2009. About.com called the release, “… the most complex, sonic-scraped albums of the year,” while Way Too Loud noted: “music this different that’s able to fire on all cylinders is the equivalent of expanding ones mind without the drugs.”
