Singapore grindcore band WORMROT has signed with Earache Records.
Wormrot is a three-piece act formed in 2007 by school friends Arif (vocals) and Rasyid (guitars). Completed by drummer Fitri, Wormrot take their love of all things heavy and combine it into utterly pulverising, classic-sounding grindcore.
Drawing on influences from such grindcore legends as Insect Warfare, Wormrot recorded a number of EPs and splits, before recording their debut full-length album, Abuse. Originally released by Scrotum Jus Records in May 2009, Earache Records is due to re-issue Abuse with a 34 track bonus disc of demos and unreleased material, in all of its punishing glory on April 12th, 2010, before Wormrot kick off a European tour.
Wormrot adds: “There are many more talents waiting to be discovered in the East. We’re fucking ecstatic to be given this chance. But come the month of May, it’s less talk, all action!”
