Guitar legend STEVE VAI has announced that he will return to the US in the fall for a 30-plus city for the The Story Of Light. Mighty Music are proud to announce the release of “Apocryphal” by the Danish black metal band ABDUNOR, having been released on June 24th. ABDUNOR was formed in 1997 by the two masterminds Horror and Inferior, and they are now back with their innovative, dark and atmospheric metal music!

ABDUNOR released an EP entitled “Whispers in Nameless Forms” which was published in 1998. After a long hiatus ABDUNOR has begun to stir again and this time it’s serious. Horror explains:

CYNTHESIS – Releases Video Documentary On ‘ReEvolution’

Following Sensory Records’ worldwide release of ReEvolution, the second full-length from progressive metal outfit CYNTHESIS, the band this week unveils a new mini-film on their initial inception and the concepts behind the album. The short documentary was filmed in multiple locations, as the majority of the group — guitarist/keyboardist Jasun Tipton, vocalist Erik Rosvold and drummer Sean Flanegan — still inhabit their origin of Pleasanton, California, while Jasun’s brother Troy currently resides in Moscow, edited and produced by Wayne Joyner of The Ghost Network.

Following their recent performance at the Fifth Annual Scion Fest in Memphis, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY has announced live assaults for August. In addition to their already planned participation at Gwar’s annual BBQ, the trio will perform a headlining show in Wilmington, Delaware before heading to South America for a string of dates. The August shows mark a break from continued work in the recording studio on the band’s new album, expected for release in early 2014.

American thrash metal band HIRAX was founded by vocalist Katon W. De Pena in 1984, gaining a legion of fans while playing in Los Angeles and San Francisco with other pioneering thrash acts of the era: METALLICA, EXODUS, and SLAYER. After initially releasing some demos, HIRAX signed with Metal Blade Records and debuted with their first full-length recording, aptly named Raging Violence in 1985. Since 1986, the act has undergone many lineup changes, including the departure of De Pena himself for a long period between 1988-2000. The act is going stronger than ever today, having most recently released the album entitled ‘El Rostro de la Muerte’ in the spring of 2009, which is now being followed up with the forthcoming ‘Immortal Legacy’.
