All rape and kidnapping charges against the members of Polish extreme metal act DECAPITATED have reportedly been dropped, citing the well-being of the alleged victim. The news comes via The Spokesman-Review reporter Jonathan Glover.
Four members of Decapitated had been arrested in September for allegedly detaining and raping a woman following an August show in Spokane. The musicians were released from jail last month as they awaited trial, which had been scheduled to commence on January 16.
No further information is currently available.
When first formed, the age of the band members ranged from 12 (Vitek) to 16 (Vogg and Sauron).
On October 29th 2007, whilst traveling to a show in Gomel, Belarus, the band were involved in an automobile accident. Their tour bus collided with a truck carrying wood, injuring Vitek and Covan seriously. On November 2, 2007, Witold “Vitek” Kieltyka was declared dead due to injuries sustained from the bus accident.
Since the band were without a permanent bass player at the time, Vogg was left as the only member of Decapitated. He temporarily joined Vader in 2008, but later that year decided to reactivate Decapitated. The band finally reformed in 2009 with three new members.
Jacek Hiro was only a live guitarist for Decapitated, hence his omission from the promotional pictures for “The Negation”.
Vogg uses guitar model Vogg, created specially for him by RAN in 2004, after recording “The Negation”.
On Saturday, September 9th, 2017 all four members of Decapitated were arrested in Santa Ana, California, on first-degree kidnapping charges. All four band members are accused of gang raping a woman on their tour bus after their concert in Spokane, Washington, on August 31st. Currently they are all being held in jail in California awaiting extradition to Washington. The band has taken down most of their social media accounts after these events.
