The rock world was left scratching its head when PEARL JAM singer Eddie Vedder did not attend his best friend Chris Cornell’s funeral this past Friday. To make things worse, Cornell’s mother-in-law Toni unleashed a series of mean, hateful tweets afterward calling Vedder “nothing of a man”… among her many other extremely rude & insensitive comments.
My heart breaks to see kids abandon by fathers friend???? Especially one totally devastated and in disbelief! U fooled her to believe u care

Word going around is that the reason Vedder did not attend the funeral is because he does not accept the ‘suicide’ ruling nor like Vicky Cornell or her mother.
While everyone is so quick to accept the ‘suicide by hanging’ ruling in the late SOUNDGARDEN front man’s recent death on May 18th in Detroit after playing a gig for over 5,000 fans, it seems the Karayiannis family Chris Cornell married into is already familiar with putting innocent people six feet under.
Barbara Ross of New York Daily News on Thursday, January 13, 2000, 12:00 AM issued this report:
‘The son of a wealthy Queens restaurateur was cleared yesterday of homicide charges by prosecutors who said he wasn’t drunk enough or driving fast enough to face charges. The decision to drop murder and drunken-driving charges against Nicholas Karayiannis, 20, triggered an outcry from the victim’s sister. “I hope you never get a good night’s sleep and every night my sister bugs you,” Adenia Clark-Patrick said she told Karayiannis after charges were dismissed in the death of Geraldine Clark-Penn, 50, of Harlem. “He said, ‘You don’t know what I’ve been going through.
What I know is we pay every day of our lives. We have nothing. They still have him.” Clark-Patrick declared.
The June 13, 1998, accident occurred about 6:40 a.m. on Central Park West near 70th St. when Karayiannis’ $50,000 sport-utility vehicle strayed into the northbound lane. It smashed head-on into a taxi in which Clark-Penn was a passenger. Barbara Thompson, a spokeswoman for Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, said charges were dropped because prosecutors did not have sufficient evidence to support the case. For example, Thompson said, Karayiannis’ blood-alcohol level was not high enough to meet the standard for driving while intoxicated. In addition, she said, witnesses told investigators that Karayiannis did not seem to be speeding, and an accident reconstruction expert hired by prosecutors agreed.’
In other words, Vicky’s brother got away with killing another human being.
DEATH & THE KARAYIANNIS FAMILY
If a person’s death is caused by the negligence of another person or entity, the surviving family members usually have the right to bring a civil lawsuit seeking damages from the responsible person.

It is certainly very strange that the Karayiannis name is now once again at the center of another death related probe, this time, however, involving a dead rock legend worth multi-millions, don’t you think?
Even stranger, Courtney Love is known to be a close friend of Vicky Cornell. She attended Chris Cornell’s funeral. Her husband, Kurt Cobain, of legendary grunge act NIRVANA, died under similar circumstances (suicide by gunshot not hanging) and it’s believed by many that the HOLE vocalist was behind it.
The official toxicology report of Chris Cornell is still pending.
