SLIPKNOT – Welcome New Drummer Eloy Casagrande

In a brief statement shared online via their social media on April 30th, SLIPKNOT officially welcomed ex-Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande to their roster. While industry rumors, coding mishaps, and even the Iowan alternative metal band’s social media linking to Eloy Casagrande, had given little doubt to the identity of their newest masked member, the below social media post makes it entirely official.

Casagrande had been tipped as the lead candidate for the band’s drumming position since he “abandoned” Sepultura this past February. Ironically though, it was Slipknot firing Jay Weinberg this past November that kicked off the speculation.

Weinberg would go on to join Suicidal Tendencies‘s funk metal side project Infectious Grooves, which seemingly led to Suicidal Tendencies drummer Greyson Nekrutman leaving the the aforementioned crossover legends. During this time Slipknot would then officially recruit Casagrande in the weeks ahead of Sepultura‘s farewell tour, leaving Sepultura to pick up the newly available Nekrutman as their new drummer.

Casagrande made his live debut with the chart-topping masked metal outfit during an intimate show in Pioneertown, CA last week. He has since also performed with them at the annual ‘Sick New World‘ festival in Las Vegas, NV this past weekend.

This latest configuration of Slipknot will be undertaking a 25th annviersary tour for their 2x multi-platinum self-titled album throughout 2024 and into early 2025, with the following dates lined up.
