MÖTLEY CRÜE’s New Music Is A Continuation Of “Dr. Feelgood”, According To John 5: It’s “Really Great!”

MÖTLEY CRÜE has been teasing new music since last year, after ousted Crue guitarist Mick Mars, 72, was essentially fired by the band for dropping out of touring commitments, once TMD exposed Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil for using backing tracks during concerts, all of which was confirmed by Mars in his lawsuit. Mars stated that those 36 North American The Stadium Tour dates were the ‘worst performances’ of the band’s entire career.

On January 28th, 2014, all four members of the Crue signed an agreement at a press conference saying they wouldn’t tour again after 2015. Legendary heavy metal personality Randy “Rocket” Cody of TMD exposed that a plot was allegedly hatched by bassist Nikki Sixx and the band’s manager Allen Kovac in 2017 to sabotage and destroy the legacy of Mick Mars by coming out of retirement.

Mars has been adamant that he has not been happy with the band’s output of music since the 90s… and the basis of his lawsuit was to expose the fraud being committed with non-authentic live concerts where Mars was the only one playing for real without the aid of prerecorded tape.

Dr. Feelgood topped the Billboard 200 chart, making it the band’s only album to claim this position.

Once singer Vince Neil was fired by the band in 1992, they brought in new vocalist John Corabi, who cut the self-titled album with the band in 1994, and both Mick Mars and Tommy Lee went on the record to say that was the group’s best overall album, in terms of production and songwriting. It was the first release by the band after signing a $25 million contract with Elektra Records.

After the release of the Corabi fronted album, their record label moved to bring back original singer Neil to record “Generation Swine”, and Mick Mars “Hated that album.” This is where it is said that Sixx began to hold back Mars’ songs from the last several Crue records once he voiced his displeasure with the direction of the band, backed up by Corabi himself who is said to have written a lot of the songs for Swine, but the direction shifted on the “sound” of the production when Neil returned to become less grunge rock and more industrial.

Crue used Dogs of War as a secret band name at a planned gig in England, and then Mars’ legal team scored a recent legal victory this past January when the court ordered Mars’ court fees to be paid by the Crue for negligence in the release of crucial band financial documents. Mars is attempting to secure “majority shareholder” status so that he can take control of the band he helped to create.

Last May, Nikki Sixx took to his social media to announce that the band had completed new music finally with producer Bob Rock. Initially, Sixx implied that an entire new full-length album was completed, however since then the band members have begun to back pedal, saying there are only three songs finished. The rumored songs include “Dogs of War” and “Canceled”. The Crue subsequently played a secret show at The Underworld in London on June 30, 2023, where a cover of the Beastie Boys classic “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)” was performed.

Vince Neil’s downward spiral hit its ultimate low point after falling off the stage at a solo show in 2021, along with losing his voice at another gig. His drinking addiction was confirmed by ex-Crue limo Driver Al Bowman. TMD later revealed that Neil was purchasing $10,000 bottles of booze, when he was supposed to be losing weight and getting into shape, using a revolutionary fat burning device.

The Crue pulled the plug on their New Year’s Eve gig due to poor ticket sales, for it is believed that the “backing tracks” controversy has hurt the glam legend’s reputation as a live rock act. Mars in the meantime planned to drop his debut solo album on February 23, 2024, which again, was first revealed by Rocket of TMD. The guitar legend has dropped three singles so far and has been hailed as a “survivor” that was being gaslighted and bullied by Sixx and Kovac.

John 5 has begun to distance himself from the band in the meantime, playing his own solo tour dates in America which kicked off at the end of January this year going through March, and then he will rejoin the Crue for April rehearsals before they get back out to doing more shows, which includes North Dakota State Fair on July 19th, believe it or not.

That being said, more ‘Dirt’ was revealed by Rocket of TMD that drummer Tommy Lee busted up his hand during a Zoom call meeting, after expressing his frustration with the lackluster vocal work Neil has turned in for the new songs, which had to be cleaned up by a ghost vocalist with AI technology, the rumored ghost being CREED‘s Scott Stapp.

It’s said that Stapp turned down the full-time role as Crue’s vocalist to reunite with CREED this year. However, Stapp is reportedly ‘more than happy’ to help Neil in the studio to recreate his voice. A Classic Metal Show episode was dedicated to Rocket’s legendary journalism, which explains how AI can be used to have one person sound like another.
