In a surprising turn of events, acclaimed rock vocalist Scott Stapp turned down the opportunity to join MÖTLEY CRÜE as their vocalist, citing his disproval of the band’s “finger syncing” for main instrumentation on stage during live performances. Stapp expressed his disappointment upon discovering that his heroes Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee clown mimed to recorded tapes during all 36 dates of The Stadium Tour, as was confirmed by ousted guitarist Mick Mars, 72, who launched a lawsuit against his old band last April to settle the score, after he was gaslighted and told that he was “too old” to be in the band. It turns out, Mars was the only real musician playing the songs for real live 100%.
“It broke my heart when I learned those two guys could not play their instruments, said Stapp, whose latest solo album is produced by former Crue producer Marti Frederiksen. Instead, Stapp reunited with his old band CREED and is set to tour the USA in 2024.
For Stapp to help out his old friend Vince Neil with the use of AI to recreate the troubled singer’s voice in the studio, he jumped at the chance. “Anything to help Vince Neil, man. I love that dude! He is not a young man anymore and the voice falters with those added years, certainly once you pass the age of 60.”
“The one thing about Creed is that we are all the genuine article, you know? We might not be the bad boys of your neighborhood, but we are all dedicated to giving the fans a real rock n roll show and I think that is what separates us from mostly anyone else in the industry at this point.”
