Mick Mars, 72, said the last time that he and MÖTLEY CRÜE actually spoke to each other as friends was in 2019, around the time of the premiere of The Dirt biopic, despite Mars having performed with the Crue throughout their entire The Stadium Tour in 2022.
The revelation from Mars comes from the same Rolling Stone chat where the former Crue guitarist, whose replacement is John 5, divulged he really did not play on the Crue’s last three albums, and believe it or not, during the talk, Mars also predicted the timing of his own death.
Despite on two separate occasions, being told by Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee that he was too old to be in the band anymore, Mars claims that his ex-bandmates totally ignored him all of last year.
“Nobody spoke to me in 2022,” Mars says of Crue’s 2022 North American tour. “A lot of the time [it] felt like I was just playing by myself.”
Oddly enough, one of the main complaints Mars made in his lawsuit against his former bandmates is that he was the only one who was playing his instrument for real 100% during the band’s comeback concerts last year.
TMD also exposed the truth before any other news outlets, insisting that Mars was being harassed due to his being older than everyone else in the band by ten years. At one point, during a confrontation at the end of last year, Mick Mars began to cry when he attempted to stop Sixx and Lee from firing Vince Neil again, setting off a big rumor about the glam legends seriously considering replacing the drunken and overweight Neil with Scott Stapp.
This was the straw that broke the camel’s back, according to an industry source. “The fact that Mick went against Nikki’s authority really set off fireworks and pretty much ended the original lineup right then and there.”
Nikki lost all respect for Mick when this happened and really took things to a dark place.
“Just Go Kill Yourself!”
– Nikki Sixx
These four words cut into Mick’s elderly flesh like a hot knife cuts through butter, according to the industry source, who has viewed the leaked Mars court document, where the brutal statement purportedly was pulled from. It was at this point that, after being loyal for over four decades, it was easy to see that a totally hostile and out of control Nikki Sixx who regularly spewed such ugly and hateful words directed at Mars had finally gone too far.
Mars next made the move that everyone should have seen coming from a mile away and he filed a lawsuit for being “ripped off” on the comeback tour’s massive profits.
All that being said, Sixx and the band’s shrewd manager Allen Kovac made a request to have the court trial moved to ‘private arbitration’ so that all of the “dirt” from the Mars lawsuit does not get released to the public.
So, what happened next? Was Neil fired? No. Sixx was forced to abort the mission, ousted Mars instead and lied to the fans about why he was really leaving the band, and instead propped the rotund singer up nicknamed ‘Vince Meal” so he can lip sync to pre-recorded vocals piped through the PA, not to mention the story that the Crue alternately brought Stapp into the studio as a “ghost vocalist” by way of creating an AI version of Vince Neil’s voice by using Stapp’s voice to power Neil’s vocal samples pulled off early Crue albums, when Neil could really sing.
Are you confused yet? Don’t worry. Everyone is confused at this point!
Mars adds:
“You know how you can be in a crowd of people and still feel alone? That’s how I felt that whole tour. I felt used, sad, and inferior.”
The guitarist continues, “When we played the last show [in Las Vegas in September 2022], I felt relieved. A lot of the pressure was gone. But I was very emotionally wounded. They weren’t just shallow wounds. They were deep ones — the kind you can’t get over.”
Mars claims that he will never speak to any of his former bandmates for the rest of his life.
I called it again months before everyone else!!
