A man suspected of beheading a fellow passenger on a Greyhound bus travelling in Canada this past Wednesday appeared in court in Manitoba yesterday charged with the horrifying murder.

Vince Weiguang Li, 40, is accused of second-degree murder. The motive for the attack is not known.

According to several eye witnesses, Li was sitting next to a sleeping Tim McLean, 22, and then just stood up and started stabbing the young man 50-60 times.  All the other riders on the bus and the driver immediately fled for safety.

Next, as if straight out of a horror movie… the killer is said to have taken a large hunting knife and savagely removed the victim's head from his body and then, taking things one step closer to Michael Myers, the psycho chillingly held it up and displayed it at the window of the bus.

During the court proceeding, Mr Li of Edmonton, Alberta, said nothing in court but nodded when asked if he was exercising his right to remain silent.

Police offer no motive for the attack and prosecutors have requested a psychiatric assessment.

Mr Li will appear in court again on Tuesday after having an opportunity to talk with a lawyer.

According to the victim's MySpace, he was a fan of the popular musical act INSANE CLOWN POSSE, known for their violent themes of inner city exploits. ICP's music has been described as dub, goth, metal, shock rock and hip-hop.

The Metal Den sends our condolences to the victim's family and urges Den Head readers to observe a moment of silence in memory of a fallen heavy music listener.
