The first North American leg will run through January 31 in Newark, N.J., with a three-week break over Christmas/New Year. Ticketing information for these dates is due to be announced.
Metallica has completed work on the new album, which will be released worldwide on September 12. The first single, "The Day That Never Comes," is expected to hit radio before the end of the month.
The band will hit several spots, following the big opener at Glendale's Jobing Arena, include Denver's Pepsi Center on November 4, Houston's Toyota Center on November 20, and Vancouver's GM Place on December 2.
