Mick Mars’ First Solo Album Was Made With Original MÖTLEY CRÜE Producer, Says Singer Jacob Bunton: “It’s been really cool”

This coming Halloween ex-MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars is dropping the first single off his highly anticipated debut solo album, and while much of the project has been ‘top secret’, details have begun to emerge about the musicians involved in Mick’s band.

Who is Jacob Bunton?

The lead vocalist for the forthcoming Mick Mars debut solo album is no stranger to success in the entertainment business.

Jacob Bunton (Lynam, Mars Electric and Adler) has won an Emmy Award for his songwriting work in television. The Southeast Emmy awards took place in Atlanta, GA on June 18, 2011.

“This is a huge honor and I am very grateful…”

Jacob discusses the debut Mick Mars solo album:

“I can tell you that (over) several months we wrote and recorded a record and Michael Wagener produced it. The great Michael Wagener from (mixing 1986 Metallica album) “Master of Puppets” and all that kind of stuff. He worked with MÖTLEY CRÜE on their very first record “Too Fast For Love.”

“Michael’s producing the record because that was the first producer Mick worked with in MÖTLEY CRÜE so he wanted to do his solo album, so it’s been really cool.”

Mick Mars will drop his first single as a solo artist on Halloween. Limited details are currently known about the release but Eddie Trunk posted the following to his social media:

“Pleased to announce that I will be bringing you the world premiere of the first ever solo music from @mrmickmars on #trunknation ! I’ll debut the song 10/30, Mick will join me for an interview 10/31! @SIRIUSXM 103 Faction Talk @TrunkNationSXM . 3P ET”.

The new album is called The Other Side of Mars. Mars‘ scheduled interview with Trunk on October 31st will hopefully answer any other questions fans have, namely a release date and what any live gigs could be happening.

Earlier this year, Mars went on the record to state that he “won’t tour the album but would be open to select one-off dates.”
