PANTERA – New Track “Best Dude”

PANTERA‘s surviving members, Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown, have allegedly received the blessing of Rita Haney to move forward with a reunion tour in the immediate future, with Zakk Wylde and Chris Adler lined up as the fill-in replacements for late Abbott brothers, Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul.

Fans have been chomping at the bit for more details on the purported final PANTERA album project that is said to be secretly planned for release too.

Check out “Best Dude” as it was captured live during a DAMAGEPLAN show, as part of an impromptu jam.

There is top secret discussion going on that a final PANTERA album might be released in the same period as the now blessed reunion tour. The intended 2nd DAMAGEPLAN album demo tracks finished by Dimebag and Vinnie Paul, which apparently returned to their PANTERA thrash roots, will now be completed with Anselmo and Brown performing along with the completed songs. “Best Dude” is said to be included in the collection of brand new PANTERA tracks as a tribute tune to fallen guitar icon, DIMEBAG.

“The end of Pantera then became official on December 8, 2004, when guitarist Dimebag Darrell was murdered on-stage by a deranged fan. This much-publicized murder shone the spotlight back on Pantera for an extended moment, and amid all of the emotional outpouring and tributes, a consensus arose: in retrospect, there was no greater metal band during the early to mid-’90s than Pantera, who inspired a legion of rabid fans and whose oft-termed “groove metal” style bucked all prevailing trends of the day — from hair metal and grunge to nu-metal and rap-metal — and remains singular to this day, as defined by the vocals of Anselmo as it is by the guitar of Dimebag.” – All Music

A wild conspiracy theory posed by legendary rock journalist, Randy “Rocket” Cody, has been turning heads as it pertains to the tragic on stage murder of DIMEBAG.
