Platinum-selling Dallas, Texas heavy metal group\u00a0DROWNING POOL<\/strong>\u00a0have been rejoined by former vocalist\u00a0Ryan McCombs<\/strong>, who previously fronted the outfit from 20024-2011. The group will play their first show back with\u00a0McCombs<\/strong>\u00a0tomorrow, March 17th at Club LA in Destin, FL. A set at Throwdown At The Campground will follow a day later in Fruitland Park, FL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to his new role, McCombs<\/strong> will remain a member of SOiL<\/strong>. Speaking of his return, he offered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen I stepped away from music back in 2004, I only got back into the mix because it was with [Drowning Pool<\/strong> members] C.J.<\/strong>, Stephen<\/strong> and Mike<\/strong>, and because it was also a way for me to be a small part of keeping their music with Dave<\/strong> [late Drowning Pool<\/strong> vocalist Dave Williams<\/strong>] alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just being back in the same room together after so many years, gearing up for these shows, was a quick reminder as to why I considered them to be my best friends in the business back in the day. As everyone living life can attest to, sometimes our days can get messy \u2013 but in the words of one Dave Williams<\/strong>, \u2018Everything happens for reasons, I just don\u2019t know\u2026\u2019 Some of the greatest moments in my career came about as a member of DP and I\u2019m really thankful for the opportunity to perform with them once again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m very happy that SOiL<\/strong> and Drowning Pool<\/strong> are in a spot now where we not only co-exist, but are close enough as friends to move forward together. We support and respect each other enough for us to make sure they can keep doing what they do, and for them to allow us to revisit a bunch of these cool tunes we played a decade-plus ago, with the singer who we viewed as the archetype after Dave<\/strong> passed. We can\u2019t wait to get onstage together again and see where this leads.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s exciting as hell having Ryan McCombs<\/strong> rocking out with us again. It\u2019s been 13 years since the last time we were in a rehearsal room together, and from the second we hit that first note it was like we never skipped a beat. I\u2019ve never felt such a connection as musicians, true friends and family as I do with Mike<\/strong>, Stevie<\/strong> and Ryan<\/strong>. I can\u2019t wait to share the stage together again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNever say never. It\u2019s hard to believe it\u2019s been over 10 years since we shared a stage with Ryan<\/strong>. I think, deep down, we always knew this reunion would happen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SOiL<\/strong> also weighed in on the matter:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRyan<\/strong> has extensive history with both SOiL<\/strong> and Drowning Pool<\/strong>, so when the opportunity arose for him to move forward as the singer of both bands, we knew we could make it work together. Both bands aren\u2019t kids anymore, and we\u2019ve all grown as people, mended past hard feelings, and are approaching the 25-year marks. Ryan<\/strong> wants to work. He wants to tour and play as much as possible, and this allows him to do that. As Dave<\/strong> Williams said just days before his passing, \u2018Anywhere there is electricity for DP and SOiL<\/strong> to play together, let\u2019s do it\u2026\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the departure of McCombs<\/strong> successor and now predecessor, Jasen Moreno<\/strong>, Drowning Pool<\/strong> offered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe appreciate everyone asking about\u00a0Jasen<\/strong>. We can\u2019t speak for him but we believe he was just ready to move on to other things in life. Maybe he will make a statement. Maybe he won\u2019t. Regardless, we wish him the best.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
