The news was confirmed by his wife <strong>Annie Durkin<\/strong> on his Facebook page (seen below), expressing her sadness and love for him. Durkin had been absent from some recent Dark Angel shows and was replaced by <strong>Laura Christine<\/strong>,\u00a0drummer\u00a0<strong>Gene Hoglan<\/strong>&#8216;s wife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/themetalden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/darkangellogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"  data-gnlv=\"hey\" src=\"https:\/\/themetalden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/darkangellogo.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-99497\" width=\"316\" height=\"306\" srcset=\"https:\/\/themetalden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/darkangellogo.jpg 600w, https:\/\/themetalden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/darkangellogo-300x290.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 316px) 100vw, 316px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The band had been touring since reuniting a decade ago and was scheduled to perform their album <em>Darkness Descends<\/em> at three concerts in Los Angeles next month. They had also been working on a new studio album with Durkin and the rest of their current lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">In a recent Twitch live stream, Hoglan shared their excitement and dedication to creating an amazing Dark Angel record:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&#8216;He&#8217;s been sending over songs, riffs, stuff like that, super exciting.
