It is well known that the Abbott brothers, Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell<\/strong>, had cut new tracks in the studio just months prior to Dimebag’s murder, and these unfinished tracks were planned to be made into a new PANTERA album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PANTERA’s official videographer Daryl \u201cBobby Tongs\u201d Arnberger<\/strong> in 2020 revealed <\/a>that\u00a0Dimebag Darrell\u00a0wanted to \u201cgo back to Pantera\u201d in the weeks before his death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Darrell was tragically murdered onstage by a crazed gunman while performing with Damageplan on December 8th, 2004 in Columbus, Ohio. Anrberger, who was a close friend of Dimebag, discussed the last time he saw the virtuosic guitarist in November of 2004. It was then that Dimebag shared his intentions to reunite Pantera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former PANTERA band members Rex Brown<\/strong> and Philip Anselmo<\/strong> are currently performing tribute concerts in honor of the late Abbott brothers, and word is that they are both well aware that Dimebag wanted both of them to return to perform on these unfinished tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh, yeah, he would have [reunited Pantera],\u201d Arnberger told the LANDRY.audio podcast. \u201cThe last time I saw him was in November of 2004. I was about to go back out with Slipknot or [Marilyn] Manson, one of the two. And I went over to his house. I was just talking to him briefly about everything. He was, like, \u2018We\u2019re gonna go out and do this [Damageplan] tour through December, and I\u2019ll see you for Christmas and everything. After that, we\u2019re gonna have some new shit going on. And it\u2019s not gonna be this. Whatever it takes, we\u2019re gonna get these guys back together and do it right.’\u201d<\/p> Arnberger added, \u201cHe was saying he was gonna do everything he could. He was pretty much done with what [Damageplan] were doing at that point. He wanted to move on and go back to Pantera.\u201d<\/span>

It took over a decade of asking for PANTERA to do a tribute concert and I got what I wanted, and I also asked for the final PANTERA studio album to be released. Do you believe in miracles?
