Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> says Jimmy Page<\/a> ignored his request to appear on his new album Patient Number 9<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former Black Sabbath singer recruited an all-star line-up of guitarists to appear on the album, including Page\u2019s fellow rock icons Eric Clapton Jeff Beck. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking exclusively to Metal Hammer<\/a><\/em>, Ozzy says his attempts to enlist the former Led Zeppelin<\/a> legend to appear on the album as well went unanswered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t even know if he plays any more, but I thought getting Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page meant having the greatest guitarists on the planet,\u201d Ozzy tells Metal Hammer<\/em>. \u201cBut I never heard from him. Maybe he\u2019d lost his phone or something!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patient Number 9<\/em> does feature a stellar array of guest stars, including Metallica\u2019s Robert Trujillo, Guns N\u2019 Roses bassist Duff McKagan and late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. It also marks the return of guitarist Zakk Wylde, who makes his first appearance on an Ozzy album since 2007\u2019s Black Rain<\/em>, plus a reunion with the singer\u2019s former Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi<\/a> on the tracks Degradation Rules<\/em> and No Escape From Now<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThose Tony Iommi tracks, especially No Escape From Now<\/em>, if Geezer and Bill had played on them would have made a fucking great<\/em> Sabbath tracks,\u201d Ozzy says<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ozzy and Iommi recently made a surprise appearance at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in their hometown of Birmingham, where the played Sabbath classics Iron Man and Paranoid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
