The Sacramento-based quintet\u00a0GRAVESHADOW<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 who deftly mixes symphonic\/gothic metal with elements of doom, thrash and epic progressive power metal \u2013 have unveiled the music video for\u00a0\u201cSoldier of 34,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0the new single from their forthcoming album,\u00a0\u201cThe Uncertain Hour.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0The band’s third album will be released July 15, 2022. In the meantime, the video for\u00a0\u201cSoldier of 34\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0can be viewed at\u00a0https:\/\/youtu.be\/qXDzhkfRjuM<\/strong><\/a>, and the song itself is now available for streaming\/purchase on all digital music platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2019Solider of 34\u2019 was the first song completed for the record, and the first that Aaron [Robitsch \u2013 guitars] and I truly collaborated on,\u201d <\/em>explains guitarist William Lloyd Walker. \u201cWe wanted to create something that we felt was reflective of the band\u2019s journey up until this point. The mournful melodies cast on top of these raw, aggressive rhythms we felt was the perfect backdrop for a story centered around losing those closest to you. We couldn\u2019t be prouder of the way it turned out, and we feel it really represents all facets of what we want to accomplish this record. This is just the beginning; we can\u2019t wait for the record to come out and share all that we\u2019ve been working on with fans new and old alike.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSoldier of 34\u201d<\/strong> is the follow-up to the band\u2019s 2020 single \u201cGwynnbleidd,\u201d inspired by the Witcher series, that showcased the return of the band with several new members, including vocalist Rachl Raxx Quinn and bassist Luci Rae, and can be heard here https:\/\/youtu.be\/XrorDG70g3Q<\/u><\/a>. Joining the band officially is drummer Bones Padilla, formerly of Bay Area labelmates Cultural Warfare. \u201cThe Uncertain Hour\u201d <\/strong>was produced by Miss May I guitarist Justin Aufdemkampe (Clutch, War of Ages), mastered by Roman Ismaylov (Crobot, Zoe\u2019s Extraordinary Playlist) and features artwork by Roman Ismaylov (Battle Beast, Beast In Black). \u201cThe Uncertain Hour\u201d<\/strong> sees the new lineup for GRAVESHADOW <\/strong>continue to refine the enticing mix of symphonic, gothic, doom, and epic progressive-metal elements, now augmented by the newfound energy that has been brought into the band by the soaring melodic vocals of Quinn and the rumbling rhythm section of Rae and Bones. The duo of Walker and Robitsch once again deliver a beautiful display of guitar histrionics that tastefully mix searing shred with warm melody. GRAVESHADOW <\/strong>are back on the scene with a story to tell. GRAVESHADOW<\/strong>‘s previous album, 2018’s \u201cAmbition’s Price,\u201d was given accolades by Metal Utopia for being \u201ca great record with lots of great moments for fans of Nightwish and The Birthday Massacre.\u201d <\/em>Metal Nation praised \u201cAmbition’s Price,\u201d declaring that \u201cGRAVESHADOW has taken what has become a somewhat complacent and stagnant style of metal and breathed fresh life into it, creating something vibrant and memorable.\u201d<\/em> The fantastical lyrical themes that were explored by the band on \u201cAmbition’s Price\u201d – their debut record for M-Theory Audio<\/strong> and the follow-up to the group’s incubatory 2015 debut full-length \u201cNocturnal Resurrection\u201d – were applauded by critics and fans alike.
