Two years following the release of their debut album\u00a0\u201cKingdoms That No One Remembers\u201d<\/strong>, Swedish epic black-metal artist\u00a0CIRKELN\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>is back with his second full-length titled\u00a0“A Song To Sorrow”<\/strong>, which is scheduled for release on March 25th via\u00a0True Cult Records<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Influenced by the primordial years of black-metal, the solo project created by V\u00e5ndarr<\/strong> essentially wants to carry on the legacy of legendary artists like Venom<\/strong>, Celtic Frost<\/strong> and Bathory<\/strong> by forging an epic and trad black-metal that is equally haunting, frantic, and majestic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having released one demo, one EP \u201cStormlander\u201d<\/strong> and one full-length album “Kingdoms That No One Remembers” <\/strong>in the last three years, V\u00e5ndarr have been extremely creative and is now ready to present his second album \u201cA Song To Sorrow\u201d<\/strong>, a wonderfully majestic, epic and trad-driven black-metal album that explores the mythological world of Tolkien<\/strong> and Moorcock<\/strong>.

Meanwhile, the album\u2019s first audio sample “Thine Winter Realm Enthroned”<\/strong> is now playing at Invisible Oranges<\/strong>, who commented \u201cMuch like the cover painted by famed Tolkien artist Roger Garland, A Song To Sorrow offers much more in the way of black metal than a monochromatic image. There is intrigue and storytelling and the experience is a riot of colors and sounds which sets the stage for its drama.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

V\u00e5ndarr adds the followings comments about this new track:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Thine Winter Realm Enthroned” is a song about the death of the old at the hands of the new. Much like in our present time, it’s time for the old dogmas to be questioned and for the old kings to be held accountable for their reign. The song suggests that this is a cyclical process that is as inevitable as the seasons shifting.
