“The Metal Tour Of The Year”<\/strong>\u00a0co-headlined by\u00a0MEGADETH<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0LAMB OF GOD<\/strong>\u00a0is set to make its way to cities across North America as the highly anticipated trek prepares to hit the road.\u00a0MEGADETH<\/strong>\u00a0has just announced that joining them to take care of bass duties for this tour will be former\u00a0MEGADETH<\/strong>\u00a0member\u00a0James LoMenzo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MEGADETH<\/strong>\u00a0leader\u00a0Dave Mustaine<\/strong>\u00a0comments: “I’m happy to announce that former bassist and\u00a0MEGADETH<\/strong>\u00a0alumni\u00a0James LoMenzo<\/strong>\u00a0has graciously stepped in on\u00a0‘The Metal Tour Of The Year’<\/strong>. Tour rehearsals just began, and we cannot wait to start crushing North America.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LoMenzo<\/strong> added: “I’m super stoked to be rejoining MEGADETH<\/strong> for the upcoming ‘Metal Tour Of The Year’<\/strong>. There are no better fans than MEGADETH<\/strong> fans, I can’t wait to get out there and shred some MEGADETH<\/strong> music with you all.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rounding out the lineup for “The Metal Tour Of The Year”<\/strong> are TRIVIUM<\/strong> and HATEBREED<\/strong>. Produced by Live Nation<\/strong>, the rescheduled trek will now kick off on Friday, August 20 in Austin, Texas and hit a further 27 cities before wrapping in Quebec City, Quebec, Canda on Saturday, October 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LoMenzo<\/strong> joined MEGADETH<\/strong> in 2006 and appeared on two of the group’s studio albums, 2007’s “United Abominations”<\/strong> and 2009’s “Endgame”<\/strong>. He was fired from the band in 2010 and replaced with returning original MEGADETH<\/strong> bassist David Ellefson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to MEGADETH<\/strong>, LoMenzo<\/strong> has played with Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong>, Zakk Wylde<\/strong> and WHITE LION<\/strong>. For the past eight years, LoMenzo<\/strong> has been performing with iconic rocker John Fogerty<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mustaine<\/strong> has yet to reveal who played bass on the new MEGADETH<\/strong> album after David Ellefson<\/strong>‘s tracks were removed from the LP following his dismissal from the band in late May.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
