This is not a hoax. Elton John has revealed that he\u2019s recently worked with\u00a0Metallica<\/a>\u00a0on \u201csomething\u201d during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just over a year after he performed and sang on Ozzy Osbourne’s album title track \u2018Ordinary Man\u2019<\/a>, Sir Elton confirmed he\u2019s working with rock royalty again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI’ve just done something with Metallica,\u201d Elton said on his Rocket Hour show. \u201cDuring this lockdown period. I’ve been working with Gorillaz and people like that. I haven’t been doing any Elton stuff, but I’ve been doing great stuff with other people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No more details have been revealed about Elton John and Metallica\u2019s collaboration and whether it\u2019s studio work, a live recording or something different altogether.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in September 2019, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich attended Elton John\u2019s show at The Chase Center in San Francisco and posted a photo of himself with The Rocketman backstage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBeyond inspiring to spend an evening in the company of one of the greatest songwriters and entertainers ever,\u201d Lars wrote. \u201cThank you Elton for your generosity and embracing vibes!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Metallica released the highly divisive album with Lou Reed, \u2018Lulu\u2019, back in 2011 and in February 2017 they performed \u2018Moth Into Flame\u2019 with Lady Gaga at The Grammy Awards. There was even talk that Gaga would become the 5th member of Metallica and record with the band on their next studio record<\/a>. <\/strong>What happened to all of that?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
