Set to be released to Irish movie theaters in the fall,\u00a0“Phil Lynott: Songs For While I’m Away”<\/strong>\u00a0is produced by\u00a0Universal Music<\/strong>‘s\u00a0Globe Production<\/strong>\u00a0with backing from\u00a0Screen Ireland<\/strong>. Produced by Alan Maher<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0John Wallace<\/strong> for\u00a0Cowtown Pictures<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Peter Worsley<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0Eagle Rock Films<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Phil Lynott: Songs For While I’m Away”<\/strong> will include interviews with THIN LIZZY<\/strong>‘s Eric Bell<\/strong>, Scott Gorham<\/strong>, Darren Wharton<\/strong>, U2<\/strong>‘s Adam Clayton<\/strong>, Suzi Quatro<\/strong>, Huey Lewis<\/strong>, METALLICA<\/strong>‘s James Hetfield<\/strong> and ULTRAVOX<\/strong>‘s Midge Ure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Phil Lynott: Songs For While I’m Away”<\/strong> is a feature documentary, telling the story of how a young black boy from working-class 1950\u2019s Dublin, became Ireland’s greatest rock star. As the lead singer of THIN LIZZY<\/strong>, Lynott<\/strong> was a songwriter, a poet, a dreamer, a wildman. Told extensively through the words of Phil<\/strong> himself and focusing on some of his iconic songs, the film gets to the heart of Philip<\/strong>, the father, the husband, the friend, the son, the rock icon, the poet and the dreamer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
